Sunday lasagna has been a family favorite for as long as I can remember.  Growing up, it was an ‘event’ that was reserved for special occasions because preparations virtually took all day.  A long simmering red sauce that would impart a deep roasted tomato flavor was an important ingredient in our family lasagna along with cheese, cheese and more cheese.
